The city of Saratov is an administrative center of Saratov region. It’s located on the right bank of Volga River.
Saratov is divided into six administrative districts: Zavodskoy, Oktyabrsky, Frunzensky, Kirovsky, Volzhsky and Leninsky.
The towngate is Kirov Avenue, which has become pedestrian-only street since the end of the 20th century. The street begins on Chernyshevsky Place and comes to the end with Kirov Place.
Naberezhnaya Kosmonavtov (Astronaut Embankment) in Saratov isn't less interesting. This is the street, one and a half kilometer long, consisting of four layers. The first layer is the walking avenue along Volga; perennial flowers grow on the second one; a boulevard is located on the third layer. The fourth layer is on the border of dwelling houses.
Park Lipki is also one of the sights of Saratov. It is located between Radishchev and Volzhskaya streets. This park is nearly 200 years old. More than one thousand trees grow here.
